Georgenburg Church

Georgenburg Church

After the Second World War Georgenburg was given a new name — Mayevka. Coordinates of the site, across the road from the castle, where the church stood: 54.659793, 21.805537.

The first church in Georgenburg was known from the 1657 epitaph of Pastor Pedanus in the Lutheran church of Insterburg, which showed the Georgenburg church painted in oils: half-timbered, with a small turret on the roof ridge.
