Groß Rominten Church

In the 20th century Groß Rominten was renamed Hardteck, and after the Second World War, Krasnolesye. Coordinates of the church: 54.394176, 22.378427.

The local parish was founded in 1868, and in 1880 it received a church of its own. A brick building with a small ridge turret. A small chancel at the east end, with a sacristy adjoining it on the south. Paired windows in semicircular arches, separated by small buttresses. The lower windows were small.

In 1945 the church was burned out inside as a result of the fighting.

The chancel extension survived but was destroyed later. As of 1990 only the roofless shell of the church remained. There were attempts to restore the building and use it as a club. Then this decision was reconsidered, and the plan was to use it as a gym. But nobody ever got round to it.

After 2010 the church was handed over to the Russian Orthodox Church, and restoration work began in 2015. Since its completion the building has housed an Orthodox church dedicated to the Martyrs Adrian and Natalia. A memorial to the soldiers who fell in 1914–1918 has survived in the centre of the village.
