The village lay seven km (as the crow flies) south-east of Pillkallen (Dobrovolsk). The parish was founded in 1853, and only in 1895 (according to other sources, in 1904) was a brick church in the Romanesque style built, with a square tower and a tall spire. The chancel extension had small diagonal buttresses at its corners, as well as a sacristy adjoining it.

There is no post-war information. The settlement has been struck off the register, and practically nothing of it remains.
As of 1997: the road to the village is impassable; on the site where the church stood, a small number of fieldstones and bricks could be found.
