Soginten Church

Soginten Church

In the mid-20th century the village of Soginten was renamed Svirskoye. Coordinates: 54.504592, 22.437648.

The first church here was built in 1772. It stood until 1846, after which it was demolished. The new church was not consecrated until 29 June 1901.

The settlement of Svirskoye (Soginten) no longer exists.

In the early 1970s it was abolished, and its houses were taken apart for bricks. The church was probably dismantled at the same time.

In 1997 a careful survey revealed foundations and broken bricks.
