Zinten Church

After the Second World War Zinten was renamed Kornevo. The church was founded in 1313; a pastor is mentioned in 1341. Coordinates of the ruins: 54.447704, 20.290198.

After the fire of 1716 a new church was built, using the walls of the burnt one. It was consecrated in 1741. It was restored in 1902 and 1930. Built of brick. The buttresses were removed in 1801. The tower was built in 1781; its lower part is still of Gothic construction. It has a moulded portal on the west side; the gable on the tower was made in 1930. The north porch dates from the second half of the 15th century and has star vaults. Altar, 1739. Organ, 1756, by Adam Casparini. The bells were cast in 1717 and 1736.

Zinten Church

The church was badly damaged in 1945. After the war it was gradually pulled apart by local residents. Then, in the 1970s and 1980s, the military blew it up for bricks.

As of 2002, all that remained of the church was the west front of the tower, with its moulded entrance (portal), and a heap of brick rubble. A granite holy-water basin that stood 20 metres north-east of the ruins was taken away by an antiquities enthusiast to the village of Pogranichnoye.
